From Our Market to Your Table: Help Us Build the First Long Family Market Cookbook

Update: The cookbook is here! Thanks to our incredible market community, the Long Family Market Cookbook – 2025 brings together more than 115 recipes from our shoppers, participating businesses, and families. Copies are available at our market locations while supplies last. Stop by the Foundation tent to get yours, or visit our Long Family Press page to learn more.

Each week, we get to witness something pretty special: neighbors chatting over cucumbers and cantaloupes, kids picking out tomatoes for the first time, and families discovering new favorites from our amazing participating businesses. It’s more than just shopping. It’s a shared experience rooted in good food, community, and connection.

This fall, we want to turn those market moments into something lasting.

We’re putting together our very first Long Family Markets Cookbook, and we want YOU to be part of it!

How You Can Participate

We’re looking for recipes that showcase what you’ve brought home from the market this season. Whether it’s your favorite peach cobbler, a go-to summer salad, a comfort soup full of local produce, or a snack your kids can’t get enough of, we want it all!

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Recipes that use ingredients from Long Family Markets
  • Dishes for all ages and skill levels
  • Cultural and family recipes that celebrate your traditions
  • Kid-friendly ideas or recipes from our young shoppers and cooks

To submit a recipe, drop it off at the Information Tent on market day. Please include:

  • The recipe name
  • Ingredients and instructions
  • Your name, or how you’d like to be credited
  • A sentence or two about what inspired the dish or why it’s meaningful to you

Bonus: Enter to Win!

Everyone who submits a recipe will be entered into a giveaway for a chance to win a basket of market goodies, Cluck Bucks, or other fun prizes. Selected recipes may also be featured on our social media.

Our goal is to have the cookbook ready in time for the holidays, perfect for gifting, meal planning, and remembering the warmth of market season even in the colder months.

Submissions are due by October 6.

Let’s fill these pages with flavor, fun, and the heart of our market community. We can’t wait to see what’s cooking in your kitchen!
